We have lived in Northern Colorado for 10 years now & have found the best spots for each season. Below we have compiled a list of our top six favorite locations for engagement & family sessions along with links to full galleries for each location so you can see it in multiple seasons & with multiple couples. Horsetooth Reservoir- Fort Collins, CO
An beautiful location right outside of Fort Collins. This is our go to spot during all seasons of the year. In the spring/early summer it is so green, it feels like you are in Ireland. In the summer, there are beautiful wildflowers and it remains pretty green with the foothills in the backdrop. In the winter, this might be my favorite spot because the foothills are often covered with snow & provide the perfect backdrop for a cozy session.

Carter Lake Reservoir- Loveland, CO
Carter Lake is a lesser known spot in Northern Colorado right outside of Loveland, CO. We love Carter Lake because the docks are visible from most places on shore. There are lots of huge sailboats which you can capture in the background of the photos. Carter Lake also provides multiple options for photos to give lots of variety including pine tree forest, red shale rocks, foothills and obviously water.

Sprague Lake- Estes Park, CO
Rocky Mountain National Park has many beautiful spots but our favorite is Sprague Lake! The lake has a handicap accessible trail all the way around it with beautiful views of the mountains which provides the ability to dress up without having to worry about messing up your outfit to get to the perfect spot. Sprague Lake is also gorgeous regardless of the time of year- we especially love it during the fall but the lake freezes over in the winter and is such a winter wonderland!

Other Spots We Love in Northern Colorado
Arapaho Bends
This open space is near I-25 in Fort Collins and is perfect for summer & fall sessions. There is a small pond as well as large open fields and cottonwood trees that are beautiful especially in the fall when the leaves start changing.
Old Town Fort Collins
Old Town is a local urban classic! In the summer, there are the most beautiful flowers all over providing floral interest as well as the murals. In the winter, the Christmas lights are also beautiful and provide a cozy backdrop for any session.
Lory State Park
Lory State Park is a hidden secret on the west side of Horsetooth Reservoir. It is a beautiful spot in all seasons with red rocks, blooms in the spring and beautiful pine trees with color all year long along the foothills.
